Can Microsoft Access be used by remote users?
Yes!. Its use is not restricted to just those at the office. Others may log into the system with remote software like PC Anywhere or, my favorite, " Log Me In. See www.LogMeIn.com for more information.
Let's say the company manager is traveling with his laptop and wants to access the company database. The solution is as follows. The manager logs into a web site called LogMeIn.Com. He enters his password and instructs LogMeIn to connect to a computer back at the office. Once connected, the manager may do anything he could if he were actually there.
Of course there are limitations. This is a good solution for many problems, but if there are scores of people that are routinely away from the office and need to get at the database, you may need is a true web application.
